Haunting on the Queen Mary
It was about five years ago when it all happened. My boyfriend at the time ( who I later married) had aranged a day trip to Long Beach, CA with the Queen Mary being one of the sights to see. We both had been on the ship before, however, never on a guided tour; being October and all we decided to pay the extra ticket and go ahead with the tour. While down in the boiler room we had noticed various postings of ghost sightings, but we dissmissed those without even a second glance. I do not believe in ghosts, however, that day proved me wrong. The boiler room had gated areas that are not accessable to the general public, however, my partner and I decided to scale one of them. While walking across metal planks and ragged edges, we took a turn into pretty much nowhere, we were lost. Well, not technically lost, but pretty much away from the crowd, this was not the scary part. The scary part was when silence descended around us and a cold gust of wind blew from nowhere, a sort of hissing sound came from under one of the boilers and the sound of clancking metal from behind us. Keep in mind, we were completely alone in this non-functioning ship. We had never been so scared in our lives, that was when we glanced at each other and took off running...and boy were we happy to get off that ship.
